Bacopa monnieri is the scientific name of a perennial, creeping herb commonly called Brahmi or Water Hyssop. Bacopa monnieri is native to the wetlands of southern and Eastern India, Australia, Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America. Since olden times, Bacopa monnieri has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to improve memory and treat various ailments.
